The Department of Pediatrics at NewYork-Presbyterian/Queens (NYP/Q) is seeking applicants who are BE/BC in Pediatrics and/or Pediatric Hospital Medicine to join our dynamic and accomplished Pediatric Hospital Medicine faculty within the Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine. The chosen candidate will have the opportunity to mentor, teach and supervise medical students, pediatric residents and physician assistant students from Weill Cornell Medicine, as well as Pediatric Hospital Medicine fellows from the NewYork-Presbyterian combined Pediatric Hospital Medicine Fellowship at Columbia University Irving Medical Center and Weill Cornell Medicine. As a pediatric hospitalist, they will also have the opportunity to care for our most vulnerable patients in the newborn nursery alongside neonatal advanced practice providers who cover the unit day and night.
This is an outstanding opportunity for a pediatrician with an interest in joining a developing and academically active Pediatric Hospital Medicine Program where we provide clinical services in a community-hospital setting while overseeing care provided by pediatric trainees. Highlights include:
- Provide inpatient care to children on the general pediatric floor and 5-bed intermediate care unit, as well as in the newborn nursery
- Provide consultation and co-management of surgical sub-specialty patients
- Educate various trainees during family-centered rounds, chalk talks and lectures
- Conduct research with a focus on quality improvement, clinical care, education, healthcare systems and other relevant fields, both at NYP/Q and in collaboration with faculty from Weill Cornell Medicine and Columbia University Irving Medical Center
NewYork-Presbyterian/Queens, located in Flushing, is the largest voluntary hospital in Queens and serves patients throughout the borough and beyond. It is situated in a culturally and ethnically diverse area. This 535-bed tertiary facility is an academic affiliate of Weill Cornell Medical College and has been an integral part of the community since 1957 with active services in all medical and surgical disciplines. NYP/Queens is the major teaching site for Pediatric and OB/GYN residents of NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center.
The salary range for this position is $225,000-$257,500. The selected candidate will hold an academic appointment at Weill Cornell Medical College. Academic rank will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience and credentials.
