Weill Cornell Medicine’s (WCM) Department of Psychiatry, in collaboration with NewYork-Presbyterian, is seeking an academically oriented, innovative leader to serve as Vice Chair for Inpatient Psychiatry. Our Department of Psychiatry is one of the nation’s preeminent behavioral health programs with world-class clinical, research, and educational programs. The Vice Chair will be responsible for a psychiatric service comprising 450 inpatient beds across Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Westchester County. We provide general and specialty services to individuals across the lifespan including children, adolescents, adults, and older adults.

The Vice Chair reports to the Chair of the Department of Psychiatry at Weill Cornell Medicine and to the Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Behavioral Health of NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital.The Vice Chair serves on the Department’s Steering Committee and is expected to serve as an important spokesperson at the local, regional, and national levels. The successful candidate will be board certified and must have a a track record of leadership experience in an academic environment, as well as able to establish and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, including but not limited to clinical teams, leaders in other departments, institutional leadership, and members of the Board.
