Infectious Diseases, Hospital Epidemiologist, Weill Cornell Medicine, Brooklyn

NewYork-Presbyterian Medical Group/Brooklyn, in partnership with Weill Cornell Medicine, is looking for a BC/BE infectious diseases physician to serve as a Hospital Epidemiologist.  This accountable clinical leader in infection prevention, hospital epidemiology, and antimicrobial stewardship programs (ASP) will provide real-time clinical guidance, active stewardship, lead outbreak investigations, develop IP&C policies, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure patient and staff safety. The Hospital Epidemiologist will also serve as a liaison to public health authorities and contribute to regulatory preparedness and education at NewYork-Presbyterian/Brooklyn Methodist in Park Slope, Brooklyn.

The ideal candidate would possess excellent communication skills, the highest integrity and ethics, and quantitative and analytic skills. The candidate must be an effective educator, communicator, and leader, capable of leading change and collaborating with diverse teams across the enterprise. Integrity, professionalism, resilience, conscientiousness, innovation, proactivity, and adaptability are critical, as well as a passion for improving systems and ensuring the safety of patients, healthcare personnel, and visitors. Clinically, they must be board-certified (or board-eligible) in infectious diseases with a deep understanding of infectious disease transmission.

NewYork-Presbyterian/ Brooklyn Methodist Hospital is a 651-bed academic institution, academically affiliated with Weil Cornell Medicine, caring for residents throughout Brooklyn and the surrounding areas. We treat 42,000 inpatients as well as 500,000 outpatients annually. The hospital’s academic programs include nine graduate medical education residency programs and six fellowship programs.

The salary range for this position is $240k to $280k. This compensation range does not include our amazing benefits and any incentive payments, based on quality measures and productivity, that may be applicable to this role.

The selected candidate will hold an academic appointment at Weill Cornell Medical College. Academic rank will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience and credentials.
