NewYork-Presbyterian/Brooklyn is looking for a Board Certified/Board EligibleAcute Care Surgeon, who is a graduate of a CPME accredited residency program and holds an active NYS license, to join a well-established department, as a Junior Associate, in Brooklyn.This unique program is geared to provide the candidate enhanced experience in the clinical practice of General Surgery, in the spirit of the recent "Mastery in General Surgery Program" and "Transitions to Practice" from the American College of Surgeons. As such candidates who are recent graduates of a General Surgical Residency or those who have been in practice and wish to retool towards general surgery are eligible to apply.

NewYork-Presbyterian/Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, located in Park Slope, Brooklyn, an ACS-level II trauma center, with 651-beds, academically affiliated with Weill Cornell Medicine, cares for residents throughout Brooklyn and the surrounding areas. Our academic programs include nine graduate medical education residency programs and six fellowship programs, including a large ACGME-accredited General Surgery Residency Program.

The core of this program offers opportunities for graded responsibility with sufficient autonomy to develop and demonstrate requisite skills in ambulatory, office, inpatient, emergency, and OR settings, and provide continuity of care. It also includes a robust practice management component, covering topics such as billing and coding, medical liability, and quality improvement, or patient safety. NewYork-Presbyterian/Brooklyn Methodist Hospital provides program leadership, administrative supervision, and quality oversight for this junior attending, and multiple senior faculty who will serve as clinical mentors and are in full-time surgical practice.

The salary for this one-year Junior Attending position is $124k. This compensation does not include our amazing benefits that may be applicable to this role.
