Anatomic Pathology Medical Director, Weill Cornell Medicine, Brooklyn
NewYork-Presbyterian/Brooklyn Methodist Hospital is a 550-bed academic teaching hospital in Park Slope, Brooklyn.The ideal applicant will have Minimum of five years of leadership experience in a pathology department, board certification in Anatomic Pathology, New York State Certificate of Qualification (COQ) in Histopathology and Cytopathology and expertise in surgical pathology, cytopathology, and quality control practices.
The Anatomic Pathology Medical Director supervises histology, immunohistochemistry, and gross room operations at NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital. This role ensures high standards of diagnostic excellence and compliance with regulatory requirements. Responsibilities include overseeing daily operations, managing staff, implementing quality assurance programs to enhance the diagnostic accuracy and efficiency of the surgical pathology service, providing leadership and support for the Anatomic Pathologists, Pathology Assistants, and technical staff, and representing the department in institutional and external committees. Clinical responsibilities will encompass general surgical pathology service with a focus on subspecialty areas, frozen section consultations, night and weekend surgical pathology call, tumor board coverage, and other responsibilities associated with routine hospital-based practice at NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital and Weill Cornell Medicine, Department of Pathology. Additional duties will include harmonizing Anatomic Pathology standard operating procedures among different NYP campuses. The administrative role reports to both the WCM AP Director and the BMH Pathology Site Chief. A key responsibility of the BMH AP Director will be to support Pathology Department Leadership in integrating and standardizing anatomic pathology services across Weill Cornell campuses.

The salary range for this position is $380K to $425K. This compensation range does not include our amazing benefits and any incentive payments, based on quality measures and productivity, that may be applicable to this role.
Academic rank will be commensurate with the level of experience and scholarly accomplishments.
